Victoria Bridge
The Victoria Bridge is central to Brisbane, joining the CBD to South Bank. The western half of the road surface is a two way road for buses, and the eastern half is a two way road (with bike lanes) for other traffic.
There is also a footpath on each side of the bridge. The western footpath connects directly to the Bicentennial Bikeway and the South Bank Boardwalk, so is commonly used by cyclists. Cycling is not permitted on the eastern footpath. Both footpaths are commonly congested, so some patience can be required.
The bicycle lanes on the road are better for connecting with the streets of the CBD and South Bank. The northbound lane is narrow and separated from oncoming buses by only a kerb-sized strip of concrete, so cyclists should be aware of the draft knocking them around. Access to the Bicentennial Bikeway is via Queens Wharf Road. The inbound bike lane continues around to the right with the general traffic lane to William Street, so cyclists wishing to access the bikeway will need to move into the traffic lane at the city end of the bridge to take the sharper right (signed for cyclists only) to Queens Wharf Road.
More information on the bridge can be found on Wikipedia.
