Toowong Village and Tower
Toowong Tower is a distinctive blue glass office building in the heart of Toowong, with Toowong train station situated underneath and the Toowong Village shopping centre adjoined.
Parking
Toowong Village and Tower provides 1600 free, mostly covered car parking spaces [1] but its bicycle parking facilities are substandard. There are racks available and accessible by ramp near the Sherwood Road entrance (on the walking area above the carpark entrance). They are the wall-fixed variety of toast racks, which support only a single wheel and do not provide an easy way to lock the frame, and they are exposed to the weather. Bicycles have some degree of passive security from passers-by and nearby security cameras.
Bicycles parked elsewhere are left with a note stating that it is "illegal" to park a bicycle there and threatening removal upon repeated offences. There are no grounds given to support the claim of illegality.
There are no parking facilities suitable for staff or longer term visitors. Centre Management claims that the racks provided are suitable and they have not had anybody else complain about them.
Showers
There are no showers provided for building staff or visitors. There is a Fitness First in the building, but it has refused to provide access to showers for anything less than the full membership rate. Centre Management has refused to provide facilities on the grounds that it does not have any available space.
