Sth Brisbane - Grey St - Ramp

This is the end of the dedicated bike lane running north on Grey Street just before the William Jolly Bridge. The bikelane gradually narrows to around 0.5m before the End Bike Lane sign. At this point there is a narrow ramp to encourage cyclists to move up onto the shared footpath to cross the bridge. The design is particularly poor due to the narrow width of the ramp and the extrememly narrow bike lane at this point combined with the very high vertical kerb. There is virtually no room to approach the ramp at a reasonable and safe angle. The narrow width of the bike lane at this point is also not compliant. There is a very real danger of catching a left side pedal on the high kerb as a cyclist trys to mount the ramp at the acute angle. As for pedestrian safety, there is absolutely no warning provided for pedestrians that cyclists have been diverted up onto the footpath at this point.
