Moggill Road
Moggill Road is a major arterial for Brisbane's Western suburbs, but is not terribly accommodating of cyclists. It has multiple lanes through the inner and middle suburbs but almost no bike lanes nor extra space on the road or shoulder useful for cycling.
The 2002 Transport Plan for Brisbane indicates that the section between Indooroopilly and Toowong will gain a dedicated bus lane (see map 3 on page 19), but this has not yet happened.
At the edge of Chapel Hill and Indooroopilly Moggill Road crosses the Western Freeway (and its bike path), which is a slightly longer but less stressful route to Toowong and the Bicentennial Bikeway into the CBD. Another option is the relatively high frequency 444 bus service all the way from Moggill into the CBD, equipped with bike racks.
Brookfield upgrade
Starting April 2007 and expected to finish by mid 2008, Main Roads is upgrading 1.6km of Moggill Road from Kilkivan Avenue in Kenmore to Pullenvale Road [1].
