The bridge, viewed from the Indooroopilly side

The Jack Pesch Bridge is a bicycle and pedestrian bridge adjacent to the Albert rail bridge and Walter Taylor road bridge joining Indooroopilly and Chelmer.

Wikipedia has more information about the bridge.

The Indooroopilly side

Access on the Indooroopilly end is via a shared path at the end of Lambert Rd between Witton Barracks and Indooroopilly train station. Be aware of pedestrians and cars accessing the train station.

The easiest access from the western side of the train line is via Westminster Rd and then right into the one-way Railway Ave immediately after crossing the train line (if you're coming from Station Rd you'll want to go into the right of the two lanes on Westminster Rd immediately, before passing the traffic lights at Coonan St and the train line). To cross the train line back the other way (after coming across the bridge) you'll need to make a left hand turn around the block: Lambert Rd, Clarence Rd and then Westminster Rd.

For those who'd rather not use the road there's a tunnel under the train station (entrance next to the path that leads to the bridge), but be aware there's a decent sized flight of stairs at the western end, and the footpath along Railway Ave may be a better bet.

Access to the University of Queensland (to the east) is easy from the bridge: start by following the length of Lambert Rd. Access to the city is a little more complicated: go along Lambert Rd, turn left at the end onto Indooroopilly Rd, turn left at the end onto Swann Rd and then immediately right onto Gailey Rd, then follow that in to Coronation Drive.

The Chelmer side

The southen end of the bridge connects to Wharf St (a continuation of Oxley Rd) just before it loops around under the bridge.

Intersection of Rosebery Tce and Wharf St

Access along Oxley Rd/Wharf St is straightforward: veer left onto the path to the bridge. In the reverse direction things are more complicated because Wharf St is one way in the other direction for motor traffic. Where the path meets the road, cross it (safely) and head to the green marked bike lane (which is one way in the desired direction) on the far side. It's protected by a traffic island but is relatively narrow and can easily fill with debris so look out. The path is only a few metres long before branching out to Rosebery Tce on the left (part of the River ride) and continuing on straight ahead to the two way part of Wharf St and Oxley Rd. Be careful of cars in this area as they are likely to at least as confused about (or oblivious to) the bike lane arrangements as you.
