Hale Street Link

The Hale Street Link is a $176 million dollar bridge under construction linking the western edge of the Brisbane CBD to South Brisbane as part of the TransApex plan. Brisbane City Council has more information about it on its web site [1].
Timeline
- 19 August 2006 – 13 October 2006: Draft Impact Assessment Statement available for public review
- 14 November 2006: Council voted to go ahead with the bridge
- 25 January 2007: Expressions of interest closed
- 29 March 2007: Preliminary drilling commenced
- May 2007: Final proposals due
- June 2007: Contract be awarded
- August 2007: (Preliminary?) construction commenced
- Post-January 2008: Major construction commencing (date not set as at Dec 2007)
- Mid 2010: Complete
As at mid December 2007 the design and construction plans are still up in the air, which is delaying the start of construction.
