Guide to Road Design

The Guide to Road Design is the standard set of design guidelines published by Austroads and used by road agencies in Australia and New Zealand, including Queensland's Department of Transport and Main Roads. Altogether it is a set of eight volumes and a hard copy costs over $1000 (and $830 for an electronic version), putting it out of reach of most cycle advocates. Fortunately the parts of it that relate to cycling have been extracted into the separate Cycling Aspects of Austroads Guides, which is available in electronic form for free (or $99 for a hard copy).
