The North Quay bikeway runs alongside the Brisbane River. At this point it is between the South East Freeway and the river. The path is a shared path with a directional divider line and is quite narrow. There is a real danger of cyclists or pedestrians falling into the river during times of congestion or poor visibility. There are only very short sections of fence here near storm water pipe outfalls.
