Fleming Road in Chapel Hill is one of the main routes out of Chapel Hill to join Moggill Rd, the Western Freeway Bikeway or up to Green Hill reservoir to get to the University of Queensland while avoiding main roads in peak hour. It is also a BCC bus route. This short section of Fleming Rd for some reason is just missing a sealed shoulder forcing cyclists to have to claim the lane as there is not even enough pavement width to provide an edge white line. The problem was reported to the Council on 23 Mar 06. Council had no explanation for this 'missing' section of sealed shoulder but said it would be sealed in September 06. The work was actually done in early October 06. Some kerb and guttering was added and the actual shoulder added is a little narrow and rough but is an improvement.
