The Brisbane Valley Rail Trail is a partially constructed 148 kilometre regional trail between Blackbutt and Wulkuraka, Ipswich, also passing through Linville, Moore, Harlin, Toogoolawah, Esk, Coominya, Lowood and Fernvale. Currently only the sections from Fernvale to Lowood (9 kilometres) and from Moore to Blackbutt (30 kilometres) exist. It is one of the "highly ranked" trails listed in Active Trails, and will receive $3.6 million in funding from the Queensland Government over five years to develop the remaining sections [1].

Development

The development is being undertaken by Mike Halliburton and Associates under the Office of Urban Management along with Ipswich City Council and Esk Shire Council. It is scheduled for completion by 2012. [2]

Consultation

The draft plan is open for consultation until the end of January 2008, and is available for inspection at several locations in the area. The final version is expected in February 2008. For more information, see the OUM page.
