Brisbane Riverwalk
Brisbane's Riverwalk is a long series of partially connected paths along the edge of the river, running from Breakfast Creek around to St Lucia on the north side, and back from West End to Kangaroo Point on the south side.
Although primarily recreational in focus, the Riverwalk includes heavily used commuter routes (such as the Bicentennial Bikeway) and several parts of the popular River ride. Brisbane City Council is working to improve and further connect the walk.
A focal part of the Riverwalk is a roughly 700 metre section of floating walkway on the western side of New Farm, opposite Kangaroo Point. This section has attracted much attention with its high maintenance cost, due in part to river traffic including Council's own CityCats. [1]
A more detailed description of the Riverwalk is available on Council's web site [2].
