Active Trails: A Strategy for Regional Trails in South East Queensland is a document prepared by the Queensland Outdoor Recreation Federation and published by the Office of Urban Management. It discusses and puts forward the case for further development of regional trails in Queensland, and proposes nine new "highly ranked" trails:
- Brisbane Valley Rail Trail,
- South East Queensland Coastal Recreational Cycleway,
- Boonah to Ipswich Multi-User Recreation Trail,
- North Coast Mountain Bike Touring Trail,
- Caboolture Multi-User Trail Network,
- Maroochy River Canoe Trail,
- Gormans Gap Track and Bicentennial National Trail Circuits,
- Tamborine Tracks and Pathways Network, and
- Brisbane City to Fernvale Recreation Trail
Of these, the Queensland Government announced on 22 January 2007 that it would fund the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail, Boonah to Ipswich Trail and Maroochy River Canoe Trail with $8.8 million over five years [1].
