Thanks Michael, that's an interesting compilation of facts and
assessment. I had never really though about the legal point which is
raised in that cyclists who don't wear a helmet for whatever reason are
discriminated against by the legal system in matters of compensation
with no need to consider the underlying science. It is certainly true
what is said there about in some jurisdictions the police are simply
refusing to enforce the legislation because of public objection to it,
Byron Bay is certainly an example of that. The Byron experience as an
example probably reinforces many of the claims made in that assessment.
No doubt there are other such places here in Oz.<br>
