Hi all,

A friend was recently looking for a new road bike in the low to medium 
part of the range for basic commuting use and, after a bit of initial 
shock at the prices of most road bikes around the place, decided a 9990 
from 99 Bikes was for him:

It seems to be a fair bit cheaper than other bikes that look comparable on 
paper: 7005 alloy frame, carbon forks, 105 cranks, levers, derailleurs, 
brakes, cassette & chain, R500 wheels, Vittoria Zaffiro tyres, for about 
$1200 or $1300 IIRC. Is anybody here familiar with this range of bikes? 
Any comments on where the money has been saved? Good value for money?
